Cusco on the Step

Today we want to see the essentials and discover a culture like the Inca, which will once again fill us with the excitement of traveling.

3 days 2 nights

Group size 2-12

Starting Point - Cusco

January to December

Reception at Cusco’s Velasco Astete Airport and transfer to your selected hotel.
Between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m., we visit the heart of the ancient capital of the Tahuantinsuyo: Cusco’s Main Square (Plaza de Armas). Surrounded by colonial churches and carved wooden balconies, its atmosphere vibrates between the Inca past and the Spanish legacy. We enter Cusco Cathedral, where Cusco’s Baroque art seems to dialogue with Andean symbols hidden among golden brushstrokes.

Just a few steps away, the Qorikancha—the Temple of the Sun—awaits us. There, the perfectly fitted stone walls recall the greatness of the Incas.

We leave the city center to ascend to the archaeological remains that overlook the city. Our first stop will be Sacsayhuamán, the fortress of cyclopean blocks so large they seem carved by giants.

We continue to Qenqo, a ceremonial center where stone passageways guarded the secrets of ancestral rituals. Finally, in Tambomachay, the murmur of the water fountains speaks to us of the sacred connection between the Incas and nature. Return to the hotel at approximately 6:00 p.m. Overnight in Cusco.

Transfer to the Poroy train station to board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes (a small town near the Machu Picchu Sanctuary). The train journey lasts approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes and offers spectacular scenery along the way, combining highlands and jungle landscapes. Without a doubt, this is one of the most impressive journeys in Peru, as it provides beautiful views throughout the entire route.

Departure from the bus station to take the transport that will take us uphill to the Machu Picchu ruins. This short bus ride lasts only 20 minutes and travels along a steep, winding, unpaved road through a mountain with jungle characteristics and breathtaking views.

Finally, we arrive at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, where our local guide will lead us on a tour of the most important areas of this beautiful Inca citadel. At Machu Picchu, we will enjoy a 2-hour guided tour, visiting the agricultural sector made up of farming terraces, the urban area where its inhabitants lived and where the main civil and religious activities took place. We will also visit the Intihuatana of Machu Picchu, located at the highest point of the citadel, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, and other important sectors.

In the afternoon, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch (lunch not included).

Return by train to Cusco. Reception and transfer to the selected hotel; overnight in Cusco.

Transfer to the airport. END OF SERVICES.
